We began our journey overseas last week. I’m excited to embark on this great adventure with Jesus. We’ve spent the past couple weeks preparing for this crazy year. I particularly am excited to experience this new country and everything it has to offer.

A New Perspective

Recently, we heard a message on identity during Training Camp. I heard something that really resonated with me that I have never thought about before and I’d like to share it with you too:

“You are not a human being trying to figure out how to be spiritual, you are a spiritual being trying to figure out how to be human.”

The reason this struck me is because it never occurred to me that this was the truth. I’ve long thought that we are more than our bodies, physical senses and experiences. As someone who has had supernatural encounters, I often think about how much more broad “real” is than just me. However, this quote resonated with me deeply.

I think this quote encompasses everything I’ve been learning in life to this moment. I am learning everyday to be human and be open to uncomfortable and unfamiliar experiences.

Kenya

We are in Kenya! There’s already so much to explore and learn about this beautiful country. We took a bus to another town where we will be spending time with young disadvantaged girls, ministering to women, and making new friends in the local community.

This past week, we spent some time getting groceries at the local markets and exploring the town.

We also met the girls we will be ministering to this month. They invited us to worship and prayer time, where they sang, danced, and praised the Lord together. We got to introduce ourselves and shared a short message to them.
